I’m a new convert to the organic lifestyle and trying to become informed. What is the advantage of drinking soy milk over organic milk? I only use it a couple times a week on cereal. -Vicky

Hi Vicky,

Cow’s dairy is highly allergenic, meaning that it is difficult to digest and results in proteins that frequently cause allergies. “Organic” gets rid of the hormones and antibiotics in milk but does nothing to resolve the casein protein as an allergen issue.

It also still leaves the pus issue, 1.5 million pus cells per teaspoon of milk, but then who doesn’t love pus with their cereal? 

And lastly the issue of casein protein being a cancer promoter. It doesn’t cause cancer but it does feed cancer cells nicely and accelerates the growth.

Soy is also a highly allergenic food but not as allergenic as milk. You want to get any soy you buy in the organic form as non-organic varieties have been genetically modified to contain herbicide genes that are unhealthy for human consumption. All soy needs to be organic to avoid these genetic nightmares.

Overall, if you had a small serving of organic milk a few times a week and didn’t otherwise eat much dairy then I would say you are doing better than 99% of the rest of the world and that this little habit offers you very little health risk.
